Byrd Cancer Education and Advocacy Foundation Launches Educational Video Series for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Philadelphia, PA – July 28, 2024– The Byrd Cancer Education and Advocacy Foundation is proud to announce an upcoming project aimed at raising awareness and educating the community about breast cancer. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Foundation will be filming a series of educational videos on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Philadelphia. These videos will cover crucial topics related to breast cancer, including prevention, signs and symptoms, treatments, survivorship, and integrative therapies.

In an effort to reach a diverse audience, the videos will be produced in both English and Spanish. Participants will include individuals from various backgrounds, religions, ethnicities, and languages to ensure the message resonates widely. Notably, the series will feature a participant over the age of 65 and a male breast cancer survivor to provide varied perspectives on the disease.

“We believe that diverse perspectives and experiences are essential in reaching a wide audience,” said Dr. Nia Imani Bailey, President and Founder of the Byrd Cancer Education and Advocacy Foundation. “Our goal is to educate and empower our community, potentially saving lives through increased awareness and understanding of breast cancer.”

Call for Participation
The Foundation is actively seeking participants for this important project. If you are passionate about making a difference in breast and chest health, cancer prevention, and survivorship, we invite you to join us. Filming will take place from 11am to 3pm, and a stipend of $25 will be provided to all participants.
