Byrd Cancer Foundation Hosts Community Forum to Break Barriers in Clinical Trial Access

Philadelphia, PA –June 23, 2026— The Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation will host a community forum titled Breaking Barriers to Access: Bridging Clinical Trials and Community Voices on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Northern Liberties Community Center in Philadelphia.

This event will bring together residents, healthcare advocates, and community leaders for a critical conversation on improving clinical trial access for historically marginalized communities. A featured presentation will focus on clinical trial enrollment and accessibility, with particular attention given to challenges faced by Black, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, LGBTQIA+, Native American, immigrant, veteran, and single-parent populations.

“Our mission is rooted in ensuring that all communities — especially those historically excluded from research and care — have equitable access to lifesaving information and opportunities,” said Dr. Nia Bailey, President of the Byrd Cancer Foundation. “This forum is part of our continued effort to inform, empower, and engage the people we serve.”

The event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in this important dialogue.

Byrd Cancer Foundation extends sincere thanks to its community collaborators and partners for their ongoing support in making this program possible.
