Philadelphia, PA – The Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation is thrilled to announce exciting updates to our upcoming “All Things Cancer & Wellness Expo,” sponsored by Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance. This event, dedicated to raising cancer awareness and providing support in the Philadelphia Tri-State Area, is set to take place on April 27, 2024, at the MQFactory, located at 126 Leverington Ave, Philadelphia, Pa 19127, from 10 am to 5 pm.
In addition to our esteemed sponsor, Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance, we are proud to welcome new sponsors and participants who will enrich the expo experience for attendees. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Revive Solutions join us as sponsors, bringing their dedication to cancer research and emergency response training to our event.
Revive Solutions will be conducting live CPR demonstrations, providing attendees with the opportunity to learn and participate in this life-saving skill firsthand. Additionally, the Live Like Lukas foundation, founded by the Kusters family in memory of their son, Lukas Kusters, will be joining us as both sponsors and panelists, contributing to our collective mission of raising awareness for childhood cancer.

The “All Things Cancer & Wellness Expo” remains dedicated to its core objectives of educating and empowering communities, supporting cancer thrivers, and raising awareness to break stigmas surrounding cancer testing. The event will feature wellness vendors, yoga sessions, workshops, panel discussions, voter registration, and more.
Joining our esteemed panelists are individuals who bring diverse perspectives and invaluable insights to the discussion on cancer awareness and support. Our panelists include:
- Dr. Monique Gary: Breast oncologist surgeon with expertise in cancer treatment and survivorship.
- Dr. Chalice C. Rhodes: Breast cancer thriver and oncology mental health specialist, offering unique insights into the mental and emotional aspects of cancer.
- Rebecca Kusters: Founder of the Live Like Lukas foundation, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer in honor of her son, Lukas Kusters.
- Kecia Johnson: Stage 4 colon cancer and HIV thriver, sharing her inspiring journey of resilience and advocacy.
The event will be hosted by Power 99, iHeartMedia Personality Cappuchino, adding an engaging and dynamic touch to the proceedings. Furthermore, attendees can indulge in delicious offerings from one of our food truck vendors, Tacos Mexiko, while taking advantage of free breast screening provided by Bexa.
Bexa exists to save lives and protect women and men with a mission to provide an accurate breast examination that is available to women and men of every age and every color. Additionally, free HIV testing will be available onsite.
In addition to the enriching discussions and activities, attendees will have the opportunity to witness the premiere screening of “A Letter to My Sisters: the Erica Jo Robinson Story,” a powerful cancer awareness documentary. “A Letter To My Sisters” documentary has been supported by influential figures including Senator Coons of Delaware, Rep Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware, Lt Gov Bethany Hall-Long of Delaware, and PA Speaker of the House, Rep Joanna McClinton, sheds light on the journey of breast cancer survivors and advocates for increased awareness and support.
